I am creating something that has to be amazing. It will be. Piecing together the elements of my forthcoming mixtape Daydreams and Nightmares has been quite an experience, because I am reaching deep into the depths of my psyche. Figuring out ways to push myself in every aspect of flow, content and delivery. I tinker a lot. I spend hours on end with my engineer, Yeshiva picking out the little elements of a song because I think every little inch matters. I love my accent but I sometimes have Yeshiva isolate my words accapella so I can make sure the pronunciation and inflection is clear. So no one says oh I can’t understand what he is saying. For me the message can’t get lost in translation. Each words matters and is not just a waste of space. It is matter and matter in opinion should have value.
Daydreams and Nightmares is a body of work that juxtaposes my happy times with my struggles. My rhyme with my hustle and what lies between my highest point and lowest points, but mostly it is about what happens in-between. That in-between is life. I really can’t wait to share these songs with you. I honestly crave the best gift anyone can ask for sometimes, which is that someone listens. Listening is an act of love, which is an emotion we could all use. Myself, included. So, welcome to my daydreams and nightmares. Not all closed books are meant to be open, but now this one is.
